The Farewell!!

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING POST!
Well, for a while now we have been contemplatng to host a farewell for our class.. but over the last few days many have raised concerns on how the frewell is going to be ! If we should have the farewell for our class alone and so on..
Through this post.. I just aim to drive out what exactly is happening about the farewell.. bring out your concerns and decide soon on what we may have to do!!
WHATS GONNA HAPPEN
1.A farewell function tentatively @ '"The Comfort INN - Marina Towers" egmore.. date: to be confirmed, lunch/dinner: to be confirmed soon
2. cost: Rs.500
3. We ll have a gettogether with A batch and staff together with formal begining with the staffs speeches... followed by FOOD :)
4. Will include a proper photo session as well..
WHY THE FAREWELL..
1. We are almost completing our undergraduation.. and w/o a farewelll it might just be a drab ending to our four years together.
2. All the while.. The farewell and the photshoots in our coll has been very hapazard and not enthusiastically attended.. This year I guess we should change that and end with something nice..
3. Well, until a few years back the deparments in our college used to host a small time farewell at the functon hall.. but over the few years.. things happened and the whole idea of farewell died down..No one hosted a proper farewell.. So few of us thought..WHY NOT BRING IT BACK.. OR WHY NOT START A NEW TRADITION!!
4. Guys.. it ll probably be the last time for many of us together.. !
WHY A FAREWELL @ A HOTEL, WHY THE STAFF, WHY BOTH BATCHES TOGETHER!
1. Just sit back and think if any college u know, or any of ur friends in the other colleges DID NOT HAVE A PROPER FAREWELL ARRANGED BY THE COLLEGE.. well.. only our college doesnt.. so if the college isnt going to organise one.. i guess we should.
2. @ a hotel cos.. we just cant have it in our coll with the kind of infrastructure it provides..
3. Having it at a hotel is going to come at a price!!
4. Its a misconception that its goingt to be farewell party!! ITS PRIMARILY NOT A FAREWELL PARTY.. BUT A FAREWELL FUNCTION.. FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF ECE.;
5. This therefore makes it imperitive to call the staff.. since its a farewell function for our batch of ECE
6. And surely this justifies having both batches together!!
7. Parties can be arranged separately.. later .. not for all.. but for those who want.. at any point in time.. what we need to do now is to have a nice get together with our batch for a farewell function..
8. Its important to note: THIS IS A FAREWELL FUNCTION FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF ECE.. and so..ITS MORE OF A GET TOGETHER.. AND PROLLY HAVE A FORMAL START TO AN INFORMAL EVENING!!
WHY NOT HAVE SEPARATELY FOR B BATCH ALONE
Many people recently have come up with this idea... and i ve been having discussions .. ill put down the following poitnts.. ppl PLEASE DIS AGREE IF U NEED TO.. ONLY THEN CAN WE HAVE A FAREWELL AT ALL.. DO NOT DELAY IN DISAGREEING..
1. As i said earlier, this is an attempt towards a farewll function for the dpartment as a whole and is not a party in its real sense..
2. We guys can surely have a party too.. without the staff.. without the other batch.. but we ll have it later separately!
3. Its economically more viable and cheaper if we organise for the 120 of us..
WHAT SHOULD U DO
1. Think on the above.. and if u still got concerns.. tell ppl..me(ramkumar) or others shiva, priyanka, syed, siddharth, akshay, balaji, who ve been trying to sort out matters.. or just mail ecebqbank if u want to remain anonymus.. U NEED TO DECIDE YES OR NO ASAP!
2. PAY UP Rs.500 whatever u decision is.. we ll need the money anyway to even organise a class party for B batch alone..
3. Be a little more proactive in participating/organising/getting together our class for one last time :) :P
FINALLY
1. Do whatver u do fast..
spread the word around.. and get ppl to pitch in the money! lets enjoy our last few days together instead of wasting on thinking of what to do!!
